About Stylocline gnaphalioides Nutt.
Stylocline gnaphalioides Nutt. is a small annual herb that grows close to the ground, reaching only a few centimeters in length. Its body is usually covered in white, often woolly, hairs. The small, blunt leaves are arranged alternately, and each leaf grows up to 1.4 centimeters long. Its inflorescence produces spherical flower heads, each a few millimeters in diameter. Each flower head holds 2 to 4 white-haired phyllaries and tiny, woolly white flowers. This plant is native to southwestern United States, specifically southern California and Arizona; it also grows in northwestern Mexico, in Baja California and Sonora. It occurs in many types of habitat, and is common in some areas.
