About Stylisma pickeringii (Torr. ex M.A.Curtis) A.Gray
Stylisma pickeringii, commonly known as Pickering's dawnflower, is a species of flowering plant in the morning glory family Convolvulaceae. It is native to the United States, with a patchy distribution across the country's central and eastern regions. Its natural habitat is dry sandhill prairies. It is apparently tolerant of ecologically disturbed conditions, and can persist in degraded former sand prairies. Stylisma pickeringii is a perennial plant that grows with a sprawling, ground-spreading habit. It has linear leaves that are 1 to 3 mm wide, and produces white flowers from May through August.
