About Stylidium armeria (Labill.) Labill.
Stylidium armeria, commonly known as the thrift-leaved triggerplant, is a species in the Stylidium genus native to Australia. It is an herbaceous perennial plant that reaches a height between 50 and 100 cm. Its leaves are narrowly lanceolate to narrowly oblanceolate, measuring around 15–40 mm long. The leaves grow in a tufted cluster at the base of the plant, and range in growth habit from erect to spreading. The plant's inflorescences bear 25 to 100 dark pink-magenta flowers, which bloom from August to February within the species' native range. Stylidium armeria is native to the Australian states and territories of New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania, and Victoria. Its typical native habitat is described as heathland, woodland and open forests stretching from the Otway Ranges through to the snowfields of the Eastern Highlands.
