About Sturnia blythii (Jerdon, 1845)

Sturnia blythii, commonly known as the Malabar starling, is a starling species that occurs in southwestern India. This species was formerly classified as a subspecies of the chestnut-tailed starling. Malabar starlings build their nests in tree holes located 3 to 15 meters above ground level. The diet of Malabar starling nestlings includes insects, lepidopteran larvae, beetles, small vertebrates, and nectar.
