About Strigoplus guizhouensis Song, 1990
Strigoplus guizhouensis Song, 1990 shows typical sexual dimorphism for crab spiders, with females being considerably larger than males. Female specimens have a total body length between 5.40 and 7.17 mm. For an average female, the cephalothorax measures 2.34 mm long and 2.52 mm wide, while the opisthosoma measures 3.69 mm long and 3.24 mm wide. The female carapace is blackish-brown, with a paler coloration on the head region and scattered dark brown setae. The thoracic region of the female has a central transverse pale yellow stripe, with two shorter oblique pale yellow stripes on each side. The male of this species was first described in 2006. Male specimens have a total body length of 3.13 mm, with the cephalothorax measuring 1.36 mm in length and 1.50 mm in width, and the abdomen measuring 1.90 mm in length and 1.46 mm in width. The male carapace is blackish-brown in the center, with a reddish-brown middle section. Both sexes of this species share the same leg formula of 2143. This species has been recorded from Guizhou, Yunnan, Guangxi, and Fujian provinces in China. It has been collected from various locations across southwestern and southern China, which suggests it lives in a diverse range of environments within its distribution range.
