Strigatella litterata is a species first described by Lamarck in 1811. The shell of this species ranges in size from 11 mm to 35 mm. This species is distributed across multiple marine regions. It can be found in the Red Sea, and in the Indian Ocean along the Mascarene Basin, Mauritius, Mozambique, and Transkei (RSA). It also occurs in the Western Pacific Ocean along Australia, Papua New Guinea, Okinawa, the Philippines, and Indonesia.
