About Strepsicrates macropetana (Meyrick, 1881)
Strepsicrates macropetana (also referenced as Stictea macropetana), commonly known as the eucalyptus leafroller, is a species of moth in the family Tortricidae. It was first formally described by Edward Meyrick in 1881. This moth is native to Australia, and it was introduced to New Zealand, with the first recorded occurrence there in 1921. The wingspan of adult eucalyptus leafrollers ranges from 13 to 19 millimeters. The larvae of this species feed on the leaves, buds, and developing flowers of young eucalypt trees. Recorded host species include Eucalyptus microcorys, Eucalyptus nitens, Eucalyptus fastigata, Eucalyptus saligna, Eucalyptus cladocalyx, Eucalyptus baxteri, Eucalyptus muelleriana, Eucalyptus obliqua, Eucalyptus globoidea, and Eucalyptus regnans.
