About Streblote siva (Lefèbvre, 1827)

Streblote siva (Lefèbvre, 1827) is a medium-sized moth species with a wingspan ranging from 4 to 8 cm (1.6–3.1 in). Its body is rubble-grey, with white stripes running along the abdomen. This moth is sexually dimorphic, meaning males and females have distinct appearances that make them easy to tell apart: male wings are ash-colored with brown mottling, while female wings are chestnut brown with subtle white markings. The larvae of S. siva are large, growing up to 10 centimetres long. Like other species in its family, adult S. siva lose their mouthparts during the pupal stage and do not feed as adults.
