Stratiomys maculosa is a species of soldier fly that belongs to the family Stratiomyidae. It is sometimes referred to by the common name spotted soldier fly. This insect is often found seeking out flowers, and inhabits riparian areas. Its native geographic range covers western North America, and includes the locations of British Columbia, Washington, Oregon, Utah, Idaho, Nevada, and California.
