About Stirellus bicolor (Van Duzee, 1892)
Stirellus bicolor (Van Duzee, 1892) is a species of leafhopper native to North America. This species is known to have two distinct color forms. Adult individuals found in hot climates during the summer are typically iridescent, with prominent black stripes. Specimens found in cooler climates are drab, with translucent wings. The two color forms were originally thought to be two separate species. This leafhopper feeds on bluestem grasses and broomsedge.
