Stigmella rosaefoliella is a moth species that belongs to the family Nepticulidae. It is distributed in North America, specifically in the U.S. states of Ohio, Pennsylvania, Arkansas, New York, Michigan, and Missouri, and the Canadian province of Ontario. This moth has an approximate wingspan of 4.5 mm. It produces three generations per year, with full-grown larvae present in June and early July, August, and October. The larvae of this species feed on plants of the Rosa genus, and they create mines within the leaves of their host plants. Stigmella rosaefoliella was first described by James Brackenridge Clemens in 1861. Its accepted scientific name is Stigmella rosaefoliella (Clemens, 1861) Wilkinson et al., 1979.
