About Stigmella nigriverticella (Chambers, 1875) Newton et al., 1982

Stigmella nigriverticella is a moth species that belongs to the Nepticulidae family. Within the United States, this species has been recorded in Texas, Cincinnati (Ohio), New York, Arkansas, Pennsylvania, and Kentucky. The wingspan of adult moths ranges from 4.4 to 5.2 millimeters. It is thought that this species produces three generations each year. While specimens have been collected on the trunk of wild cherry, no additional evidence confirms that wild cherry is the host plant for this moth.
