About Sternolophus rufipes (Fabricius, 1792)

Sternolophus rufipes is a large, oval species with an average body length of around 10.2 mm. Its elytra bear four distinct, ordered rows of punctures. The antennae of this species are made up of nine segments. The prosternum is highly tectiform, with a medial carina. The metasternal keel is glabrous, extends posteriorly into a short spine, and continues onto the first ventrite. Hydrofuge pubescence is present on the bases of the middle and hind femora, and also across the abdominal ventrites. The mesosternal keel has a small notch and long apical setae. The posterior margin of the fifth ventrite is rounded.
