About Stereomita andropogonis Braun, 1922

Stereomita is a genus of moths belonging to the family Gelechiidae. This genus contains only one species, Stereomita andropogonis Braun, 1922. This species is distributed across most of eastern North America. Adults of this species have a wingspan ranging from 8.5 to 9.5 mm. The forewings are pale ochreous, with the deepest coloration towards the apex. They are dusted with dark brown scales, which are most dense along the costal and dorsal margins and have a tendency to form longitudinal streaks. At two-thirds of the costa, this dark dusting usually forms two diffuse oblique streaks. Along the termen, there is a series of indistinct brownish dots. A transverse brownish spot is located in the cilia opposite the extreme apex. The hindwings are pale brown.
