About Stenotus acaulis (Nutt.) Nutt.

Stenotus acaulis (Nutt.) Nutt. is a perennial herb. It typically grows as a compact tuft or mat, and its foliage can be hairless, hairy, or sometimes glandular. Its leaves range from linear to broadly lance-shaped, reach up to 5 centimetres (2 inches) long, and have three veins. The inflorescence is either a solitary 4-centimetre flower head, or a small cluster of just a few heads. Each flower head holds yellow disc florets, plus 6 to 15 yellow ray florets that measure about 1.5 centimetres long each, and the surrounding bracts are pointed.
