About Stenostira scita (Vieillot, 1818)

The fairy flycatcher, scientifically named Stenostira scita (Vieillot, 1818), measures 11 to 12 cm in total length. Adult individuals are pale grey on their upperparts, marked by a black mask that runs through the eye and a contrasting white supercilium. Their wings are black with a long white stripe, while their long black tail has white edges along its sides. The throat is white, the breast is pale grey, and the belly is primarily white with a soft pinkish-grey tint across its center. Males and females look identical, but juvenile fairy flycatchers are browner in overall coloration than adults. This species has brown eyes, and both its bill and legs are black.
