About Stellaria aquatica (L.) Scop.

Stellaria aquatica, commonly called water chickweed or giant chickweed, is a species of flowering plant in the carnation family Caryophyllaceae. It is a perennial herbaceous dicot, with stems that grow 10 to 100 centimeters high. This species grows in humid, wet habitats, such as along the sides of gutters, or under and between bushes. It is naturally found in the temperate regions of central and western Europe. Stellaria aquatica produces white flowers, and its blooming period runs from June through August.
