About Stangeia xerodes (Meyrick, 1886)

Stangeia xerodes (Meyrick, 1886) is a moth species belonging to the family Pterophoridae. It can be found across most of mainland Australia, as well as in the Ryukyu Islands, Java, and Sri Lanka. This species has a wingspan of approximately 10 millimetres (0.39 inches). The larvae of Stangeia xerodes feed on plants from the genus Cleome, Cajanus cajan, and plants from the genus Acacia. Fully developed larvae are around 12 millimetres (0.47 inches) long, with a cylindrical and moderately stout body shape. Their heads are yellowish with an orange tint, and all other body segments are a uniform pale yellow.
