About Sporophila cinnamomea (Lafresnaye, 1839)
The chestnut seedeater, scientifically known as Sporophila cinnamomea, is a bird species that belongs to the family Thraupidae. It is distributed across Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, and Uruguay; in Uruguay, the species can still be observed at Quebrada de los Cuervos. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical seasonally wet or flooded lowland grassland. This species is currently threatened by habitat loss.
