Sporobolus flexuosus is a grass species, commonly called mesa dropseed. It is native to western North America, occurring in the deserts and woodlands of the Southwestern United States and Northern Mexico. This is a bunchgrass that grows as a tuft of stems reaching up to 1 metre (3.3 ft) in length, with a form that can be erect or decumbent. It is a perennial grass, but it is short-lived, and sometimes grows as an annual. Its leaves grow up to 26 centimetres (10 in) long, with rough hairs along their margins. The inflorescence is an open panicle made up of spreading branches that hold grayish spikelets.
