About Spilosoma vestalis Packard, 1864

Spilosoma vestalis, the Vestal tiger-moth, is a moth in the family Erebidae. It was described by Alpheus Spring Packard in 1864. It occurs along the coast of western North America, ranging from California north to Washington’s Kitsap Peninsula, and also in western Idaho. The forewings of this species are 19–26 mm long. Adults are active in flight from May to June. Larvae feed on a range of plants, including Alnus rubra and Quercus garryana.
