The bandtail puffer, scientifically known as Sphoeroides spengleri (Bloch, 1785), is a pufferfish species that belongs to the family Tetraodontidae. This species can reach an approximate maximum length of 30 cm. It is common in the Caribbean, and its range extends from Massachusetts, USA in the north to Santa Catarina, Brazil in the south.
