About Sphagneticola trilobata (L.) Pruski
Sphagneticola trilobata (L.) Pruski is a spreading, mat-forming perennial herb that reaches up to 30 cm in height. It produces rounded stems up to 40 cm long, which root at their nodes, while its flowering stems grow in an ascending pattern. The plant's leaves are fleshy, hairy, and measure 4–9 cm long and 2–5 cm wide. Leaves have serrate or irregularly toothed edges, and typically bear pairs of lateral lobes; they are dark green on the upper surface and lighter green on the lower surface. Leaf surfaces may be hairy or glabrous, and are rarely scaly. This species has a very wide range of ecological tolerance, but grows best in sunny locations with well-drained, moist soil at low elevations.
