About Sonorelix borregoensis (S.S.Berry, 1929)

Sonorelix borregoensis, commonly called the Borrego desertsnail, is a species of terrestrial snail. This species was first formally described in 1929 by S. S. Berry under the original name Micrarionta borregoensis. The description was based on a specimen collected from Palm Canyon, an area that now falls within Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, San Diego County, California, United States. In 1943, Berry reclassified this species into the newly created genus Sonorelix. Two recognized subspecies exist: Sonorelix borregoensis borregoensis (S. S. Berry, 1929) and Sonorelix borregoensis ora (Willett, 1929).
