Solva pallipes is a species of fly that belongs to the family Xylomyidae. This species occurs across most of North America. Adult Solva pallipes live in shady, wooded areas, and are often seen on tree trunks. They have also been recorded on Chrysanthemum plants, and they are attracted to lights. Solva pallipes larvae have been found living under the bark of cottonwood, Carolina poplar, Osage orange, and red mulberry trees.
