Solidago petiolaris Aiton is a North American goldenrod species, commonly known as downy ragged goldenrod. It is native to the United States and Mexico, found across every coastal state ranging from Texas to North Carolina. Inland, its range extends as far as southern Illinois, southern Nebraska, and northeastern New Mexico in the United States, and as far as Coahuila in Mexico. This species prefers to grow in sandy habitats.
