About Solidago auriculata Shuttlew. ex S.F.Blake

Solidago auriculata, commonly known as clasping goldenrod or eared goldenrod, is a species of flowering plant. It is native to the southeastern and south-central United States, ranging from South Carolina west to eastern Texas and southeastern Oklahoma. This species has a patchy distribution, and grows primarily in rocky forests over calcareous rocks, though it can also be found alongside streams. It is a perennial plant that grows up to 150 cm (5 feet) tall, spreading via underground rhizomes. A single individual can produce as many as 100 small yellow flower heads, which bloom in late summer and fall.
