Solanum subinerme Jacq. is a flowering shrub that reaches up to 3 meters in height. It produces purple flowers and berry-like fruit. This species has been observed and recorded in northern South America and the Caribbean. Ecological research suggests that if cattle ingest Solanum subinerme, they may develop cerebellar degeneration. The main clinical signs of this condition are periodic episodes that include loss of balance, falling, opisthotonus, and nystagmus.
