About Solanum peruvianum L.

Solanum peruvianum, which has the synonym Lycopersicon peruvianum, is a wild tomato species belonging to the Solanaceae plant family. This species is native to the Galápagos Islands, Ecuador, Peru, and northern Chile, and it has been introduced to California. Some botanical authorities classify this species as the namesake member of a species complex; the other members of this complex are Solanum corneliomuelleri, Solanum huaylasense, and Solanum arcanum.
