About Solanum opacum A.Br. & C.D.Bouché
Solanum opacum A.Br. & C.D.Bouché is a sprawling, minutely hairy annual herb that lacks prickles. Its leaves are ovate to lanceolate, 3–6 cm long, 1–2 cm wide, and typically have shallowly lobed margins. Both leaf surfaces are green and sparsely hairy, with a 1–4 cm long petiole. Inflorescences bear 2–5 flowers, each with a white stellate corolla that is 8–12 mm in diameter. Its mature berries are 8–10 mm in diameter and green when mature. It is uncommonly cultivated as a "rare" fruit. Ripe yellowish green berries of this species are eaten, and their flavor is described as spicy-sweet.
