About Solanum emulans Raf.

Solanum emulans Raf., commonly called eastern black nightshade, is a species of flowering plant in the Solanaceae family. It is native to every Canadian province except British Columbia, and to almost all of the United States, excluding the Pacific coast states and Nevada. It has also been introduced to scattered locations across Europe. This widespread taxon and its close relatives Solanum americanum, S. nigrum, and S. villosum—all of which belong to the subsection Solanum of the genus Solanum—have been associated with considerable taxonomic difficulties.
