About Smilia camelus Fabricius

Females of Smilia camelus Fabricius are around 9 mm (0.35 in) long, while males measure around 8 mm (0.31 in) long. This species has a high pronotum that peaks closer to the head, rather than at the middle of the pronotum. The female’s pronotum is higher than the male’s. Smilia camelus is distributed across the eastern part of Canada and the United States. It is commonly found in mixed hardwood forests, and is abundant throughout the summer months.
