Siphonops paulensis, commonly known as Boettger's caecilian, is a species of caecilian belonging to the family Siphonopidae. This species is distributed across northern Argentina, Paraguay, eastern Bolivia, and southern Brazil. It lives a subterranean lifestyle, inhabiting forests, savannas, shrublands, and grassland. It can adapt to anthropogenic disturbance, and is even able to live in urban gardens. Populations of these caecilians have been recorded breeding and raising their young near Santa Cruz, a highly populated city. It is a locally common species that does not face major threats.
