About Siphonaria concinna G.B.Sowerby I, 1823

Siphonaria is a genus of air-breathing sea snails that belongs to the Siphonariidae family, commonly known as false limpets. Members of this genus are distributed globally, living in benthic intertidal zones ranging from temperate to tropical regions. They form a significant part of the invertebrate fauna found in these areas. There are over approximately 100 described species within the genus Siphonaria, but the exact total number of species remains unknown, due to the high amount of variation seen in their shell morphology. The genus occurs worldwide across most tropical and temperate seas, and occupies benthic and intertidal habitats. It makes up a significant component of the macrobenthic invertebrate fauna in intertidal habitats from temperate to tropical regions.
