About Sinica sinica (Moore, 1877)

Pryeria sinica, commonly known as the euonymus defoliator moth, is a moth species belonging to the Zygaenidae family. It is native to Asia, and has been introduced to the United States, where it has been recorded in Maryland and Virginia. The larvae of this species feed on Euonymus and Celastrus plant species, including Euonymus alatus, Euonymus japonicus, Euonymus fortunei, Euonymus sieboldianus, Euonymus kiautschovica and Celastrus punctatus.
