About Sideridis reticulata Goeze, 1781

Technical description and variation: The wingspan of Sideridis reticulata Goeze, 1781 is 32–37 mm. Fresh forewings are dark fuscous with a purplish sheen. All veins are white; the areas between the outer and submarginal lines are black, with pale outlines. The claviform stigma is black and broad. The upper stigmata are clearly outlined with pale tones, and the reniform stigma has a central pale line. There is a slight pale apical streak, and the submarginal line is white. The hindwing is fuscous, with the basal half considerably paler, especially in males. The form unicolor Alph. is described as having no violet tinge, but this lack of violet tinge is always seen in specimens that have been emerged for any length of time.
