About Sewa orbiferata (Walker, 1862)
Sewa orbiferata (Walker, 1862) is a moth species belonging to the family Drepanidae, first described by Francis Walker in 1862. This species is distributed across northern India, northern Myanmar, Malaysia, Borneo, Java, and the Chinese provinces of Sichuan, Zhejiang, and Fujian. Adult moths of this species are primarily white. Their forewings feature four ash-gray obliquely quadrate spots along the costa, plus an irregular broad discal transverse band. This band is crossed by two short wavy streaks, and the forewing also bears a submarginal series of small spots, with a dark blackish marginal line. The lower portion of the exterior border of the hindwings is suffused with orange-yellow, and the hindwings have a brownish-ash-gray submarginal band. This band is spotted on its anterior end and crossed on its posterior end by two parallel white lines; three short black streaks lie below these white lines. Two similar short black streaks are also located above the band on the abdominal margin.
