About Serrognathus taurus (Fabricius, 1801)
Serrognathus taurus (Fabricius, 1801) shows a clear size difference between sexes: males reach around 50 to 60 millimetres (2.0–2.4 inches) in length, while females reach around 40 to 45 millimetres (1.6–1.8 inches). Males of this species have a large head equipped with large jaws. The head and pronotum are dark brown, and the elytra are a lighter, clearer shade. This species is distributed across the Philippines, Indonesia, and Malaysia.
