Senecio ovatus (G.Gaertn., E.Mey. & Scherb.) Willd. grows between 50 and 150 centimeters (20 to 59 inches) in height. It has erect, hairless stems; leaves that are oblong, lanceolate, and finely serrated; and light yellow flowers. Its flowering season runs from July to September. This species is found in central Europe. It grows in uncultivated land, along waterfronts, and in the undergrowth of nutrient-rich, shady, moist forests. It occurs at elevations between 200 and 2,000 meters (660 to 6,560 feet) above sea level.
