The black-footed gray langur, scientifically named Semnopithecus hypoleucos Blyth, 1841, is an Old World monkey and one of the recognized langur species. Like other gray langurs, it is a leaf-eating species. It is found in southern India. This species is distributed across south-western India, specifically in the states of Goa, Karnataka, and Kerala, and its distribution is centered on the Western Ghats. Its total geographic range spans approximately 35,000 km² (14,000 sq mi), and populations of the species live both inside and outside of protected areas.
