Semioscopis merriccella is a moth species belonging to the family Depressariidae. It was originally described by Harrison Gray Dyar Jr. in 1902. This moth is found across northern United States and southern Canada, spanning from the east coast all the way to the west coast. The forewings of this species measure 11 to 15 millimeters in length. Adult moths are active in flight from mid-March through the end of May, and there is most likely only one generation produced per year.
