Selaginella uncinata has the accepted scientific name Selaginella uncinata (Desv. ex Poir.) Spring. This plant species is commonly known by multiple common names: blue spikemoss, peacock fern, peacock spikemoss, rainbow moss, and spring blue spikemoss. It belongs to the plant family Selaginellaceae. This species is native to southern China. It is currently widely cultivated outdoors along the Gulf Coast of the United States, and also grown in greenhouses and nurseries. It is closely related to Selaginella delicatula (Desvaux ex Poiret) Alston, a species that also partially originates from China.
