Selaginella longipinna Warb., commonly called the electric fern, is a plant species that belongs to the spike moss family Selaginellaceae. This species is endemic to northeastern Queensland, Australia, where it grows in rainforest and closed forest habitats between Cooktown and near Mission Beach, a range that includes the Atherton Tablelands. It is a terrestrial plant that forms dense growth up to 40 cm (16 inches) tall, and it is often found growing near streams.
