Selaginella arenicola Underw., commonly known as sand spikemoss, is a species or species complex of spikemoss. Spikemosses are non-flowering vascular plants, and this taxon is endemic to the U.S. southeast coastal plain, found in the states of Florida, Georgia, Alabama, and North Carolina. It grows in sandy, fire-dependent habitats across the southeastern United States. These habitats include longleaf pine sandhill, Florida scrub, scrubby flatwoods, and pine rockland.
