About Seicercus grammiceps (Strickland, 1849)

The Sunda warbler, scientifically named Phylloscopus grammiceps, is a species of Old World warbler that belongs to the family Phylloscopidae. This species is found exclusively in Indonesia. Previously, the Sunda warbler was classified under the genus Seicercus. A molecular phylogenetic study released in 2018 discovered that both the genera Phylloscopus and Seicercus were not monophyletic. Following this finding, the two genera were merged into a single genus, Phylloscopus. This merger follows the rules of the International Commission on Zoological Nomenclature, which states that Phylloscopus has naming priority.
