About Sebastapistes coniorta Jenkins, 1903

Sebastapistes coniorta has 12 dorsal spines, nine dorsal soft rays, three anal spines, and five to six anal soft rays. Its body has a fusiform shape. This species occurs in the tropical Eastern Central Pacific, including the Hawaiian Islands and Johnston Island. It inhabits reef-associated marine environments; during the day it typically shelters among the branches of cauliflower coral, and feeds in and around corals at night.
