Scytodes globula, commonly known as the Chilean tiger spider, has the following description and habitat details. Adult individuals range in size from 30 mm to 70 mm overall. This spider has a relatively small body, especially when compared to the length of its legs; the legs are usually three to four times the length of the body. It moves slowly, and only hunts during the night. It is native to South America; it is common in Chile, and can also be found in other areas of South America including Argentina, Uruguay, and Bolivia. It mostly lives inside houses, in dark, hidden locations such as behind frames or inside closets, but it is also frequently found outdoors under Eucalyptus trees.
