About Scythris limbella (Fabricius, 1775)

Scythris limbella (Fabricius, 1775) has a wingspan of approximately 15 mm. Adult moths are active from June to September, and there may be two generations per year. The larvae live within a web, feeding on the shoots and flowers of Chenopodium (goosefoot) and Atriplex (orache) species. This species occurs across most of Europe, excluding Iceland, Ireland, and portions of the Balkan Peninsula and Ukraine. Its range extends eastward into Russia and Iran, where it is found from Golestan to Farsi. It has been introduced to the north-eastern Nearctic region.
