About Scopula inductata (Guenée)

Scopula inductata, commonly known as the soft-lined wave, is a moth species that belongs to the family Geometridae. This species was first described by Achille Guenée in 1857. It is distributed across North America, with a range extending from Newfoundland to the coast of British Columbia, north to the Northwest Territories, and south to Alabama and Utah. The wingspan of adult soft-lined wave moths measures 20–25 millimetres, or 0.79–0.98 inches. Adult moths are active in flight from July through September each year. The larvae of this species feed on plant species from the genera Aster, Trifolium, Taraxacum, Ambrosia and Melilotus.
