Scolopendra dehaani Brandt, 1840 is one of the largest centipede species in the genus Scolopendra. Some recorded specimens reach or exceed 25 centimeters in length. This species typically has a lifespan of five to six years. Most individuals have brownish-orange tergites, which are the hard protective plates covering the top of each body segment, and yellow [truncated from original source]. In a 2016 scientific paper, authors proposed that S. dehaani has five distinct color morphs. Of these five morphs, four are dichromatic and one is monochromatic. All morphs generally show reddish, brown, or orange base coloration.
